On the 17 June this year it is exactly 50 years since the British Orienteering Federation came into being. The occasion is being marked by the cutting of a celebratory cake, production of a short film, and a special multi-page feature in British Orienteering’s member magazine Focus.

World Masters Orienteering Championships and World Masters Games finished with long distance final in Woodhill Forest “Hedley Dunes” north of Auckland. 23 gold medallists from Australia, Bulgaria, Finland, Great Britain, New Zeeland, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.

The IOF conducted an Event Advisers Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand on April 28th. The Clinic was held on the rest day of the World Masters Orienteering Championships.

The town of Sobotka, situated in the foothills of Slesza mountain in Poland, hosted the second edition of the Central European Youth Orienteering Cup last weekend and was just as successful as the Event premiere in the Czech Republic in 2016.

The Sprint Final in the World Masters Orienteering Championships was held today in Auckland, New Zealand as part of the World Masters Games. Twelve of the twenty-three gold medals went to Australia.
