The IOF has cooperated with the organisers of World Orienteering Championships since the 2011 to put on a WOC Clinic. The aim of the Clinic is to encourage and support participation from member federations who otherwise would not be able to participate at the World Orienteering Championships due to economic challenges.

The Council Event Supervisory Board has approved an updated version of the competition rules for IOF Foot Orienteering Events. These new rules are valid as of January 1, 2019.
14/12/2018 || Qualification rules for The World Games 2021 approved ||FootO, News||
The World Games 2021 will be organised in Birmingham, Alabama, USA from July 15 – 25, 2021. Orienteering will be present with 3 competitions, an individual Sprint, an individual Middle Distance and a Sprint Relay. The Council Event Supervisory Board has approved the qualification rules which will be used to select the 40 female and 40 male athletes who will participate the The World Games 2021.

The International Orienteering Federation, in cooperation with the Czech Orienteering Federation (ČSOS), is pleased to publish the invitation to the 2019 IOF High Level Event Seminar to be held at Hotel Golf in Prague, Czech Republic 2-3 February, 2019.
