Daniel Hubmann absent from Championships

Daniel Hubmann is not taking part in these Championships after suffering a ruptured tendon in the European Championships in May. A great shame for a great sportsman who was looking forward to extending his enviable medals record on home ground.
Another notable absentee is Norway’s Marianne Andersen, who also has had a long-term injury. She is recovering and now training, but is far from the physical condition needed to participate in a World Championships.
