Five proposals from member federations to the General Assembly

The deadline for proposals from member federations to the IOF General Assembly 2012 was 20 March. By the deadline, the IOF received five proposals on three different topics.
Spain renewed their proposal from the 2008 General Assembly in Prostejov, Czech Republic, to include Adventure Racing as an official IOF discipline.
The Italian Orienteering Federation FISO proposes changes to the IOF Statutes so as to assure that there is at least one member of each gender among the Vice Presidents, and, furthermore, at least two of each gender among the other members. The FISO proposes these changes to the Statutes come into effect immediately during the General Assembly in Lausanne, i.e. before the Council elections 2012.
After deciding to not propose changes to the current World Orienteering Championships (WOC) programme at this point, and publishing this information, the IOF also received three proposals concerning the WOC programme. The proposals came from Italy, Switzerland and the Nordic Countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden).

The IOF Council will discuss the proposals at the next Council meeting, which takes place 20-21 April 2012, and the views of the Council on these proposals will be published after that.
