Junior World Orienteering Championships: Denmark and Norway take relay titles

Denmark took the women’s relay title and Norway the men’s on the last day of the Junior World Championships, the relay, held on the very hilly terrain of Rebild Bakker, Denmark on a hot and sunny day.
Ida Bobach, gold medallist in sprint and long distance but injured for the middle final, had recovered sufficiently to run middle leg for the Danish women’s team. The team put up a very consistent performance to win by 3.12 over the Czech Republic, whose second and third leg runners both had the fastest times for their leg. Russia took the bronze medals, 3:40 down on Denmark.
After a close-fought race throughout, Norway were first to the finish in the men’s race, winning by 1:04 over Sweden. Denmark came third, 5:29 down on the winners.
