Familiar names in the top spots in European Trail Orienteering Championships

Competitors from 17 countries took part in the European Trail Orienteering Championships in Bollnäs, Sweden. The top ten placings went to nine different countries, but the winners came from traditional trail orienteering nations. In the Open Class, Hannu Niemi from Finland won before Marit Wiksell, Sweden, and Clive Allen, Great Britain. The Paralympic Class winner was Ola Jansson from Sweden. His team-mate Michael Johansson finished second and Pekka Seppä, Finland, third.
