Brozkova wins World Cup Middle on home ground

World Cup Round 3 started today with Women’s Middle distance in Liberec, Czech Republic. Minna Kauppi (FIN) already had a strong first half of the race, having a clear lead until control 9. Approaching the next control she makes a small mistake, however, and Helena Jansson (SWE) passes her in the split times. Dana Brozkova (CZE) also soon joins the battle for first place and the competition between these three athletes remains tough. In the end, Brozkova beats Kauppi with 18 seconds. Jansson is challenged by her compatriot Tove Alexandersson who has a strong finish but Jansson secures her third place with a tight 2-second margin.
