When Ionut Zinca crossed the finish line he was already showing more joy than anyone else. At the prize-giving it also looked as though he was the winner.
In fact he was fifth, but that is the talented orienteer’s best result ever. “It was a very good race and incredibly pleasing to get such a result”, he says.
The 28-year-old athlete is now concentrating on the middle distance. He didn’t run the long qualification. “I have some problem with my stomach and lose a lot of weight during a long distance, he says.
