– Not all that difficult!

Posted on | August 15, 2011 | Category: Arena

Chad Calliste isn’t more than 19 years old and his first orienteering outside Barbados was the middle qualification race at the World Championships – but he doesn’t think it was that challenging.

“Of course it wasn’t that easy, but if I had had some more practice I think it could have gone much better”, he says. The 19-year-old athlete is one of four athletes from the little country. Before the World Championships (WOC) in France, all of the athletes have just been training in their home country. They didn’t get any pre-training in the WOC country either.

“We are here to get experience, and that we’ll bring home to the athletes there”, says team manager Majella Gooding.
