Minna Kauppi isn’t at the same level as one year ago, but won the qualification.

Minna Kauppi wasn’t sure she would take part in the World Orienteering Championships earlier this year. She has suffered from sickness, but she won her qualification race.

– I want to defend what I achieved last year, but I am not in the same shape and that isn’t so nice, the Finn says. In Trondheim she was Middle distance champion and was the best in the tough battle for the Relay gold on the last leg. – Now I have trained well for just one month, she says. Earlier she was sick for two months.
On Wednesday when it’s the Long distance final is there maybe more to fight with?
– Let’s hope so.
