Reaching for the most important goal

Thierry Gueorgiou looked relaxed when he was running, but he also kept up an incredible speed.
Thierry Gueorgiou has started his most important championship ever, and what a start the Frenchman has had – with a winning margin of over six minutes in his heat in the Long distance qualification.
Since France was awarded the World Championships, it has been the big goal for the French phantom. He has a lot of gold medals at Middle distance and one in Sprint, but none yet on the Long distance. On the qualification he was in his own class.
– Except for a 1-minute mistake on one control it was a good race, he says.
– How is it to have started with the biggest goal for years?
– I have a really nice feeling. I felt happy just before the race started and it is exciting to have started.
–And the goal?
– To run and navigate as well as possible. If I do, I think I can fight for gold, he says. He is running everything except for Sprint.
Also the other Frenchmen Francois Gonon and Phillippe Adamski showed that they are ready to battle for medals.
