Wonderful with championships on home ground

Rafael Podzinski enjoys being on home ground and hope for strong legs on the middle final. The Polish is ready for being one of the very best.
“When I think about the home audience with a lot of friends and other people I get energy”, says Rafael.
He was fifth in his heat in the qualifications. Earlier in the championships he finished ninth and eleventh. The races were good, but he didn’t feel his legs were at their best. “I hope everything will go well in the middle distance final”, Rafael says.
He comes from Lodz, in the middle of Poland, just 120 kilometres from Warzawa. “The terrain there is totally flat, but I have trained in this kinds of hilly terrains often, so I am familiar with them, too”, he says.
The audience in Wejherowo is very supportive: “For them it doesn’t matter if I finished 100th or first, they cheer anyway”, Rafael smiles.
Rafael Podzinski is one of the strong Polish athletes that this week fight with all the best juniors in the world.
