Vroni König-Salmi is attending the first round of World Cup 2011 as a team leader. “When I watch the races I occasionally get the feeling that it would be nice to take part myself”, Vroni says. The veteran left the Swiss anti-doping pool in October which means she will not be representing Switzerland at this year’s World Orienteering Championships. “I will only be a spectator in France. There’s a time for everything”, Vroni comments her decision.
Vroni is now back in her home country after some years in Finland. After finishing her career as an elite athlete, she is now responsible for one of the two national training centres for orienteering and involved in different projects with the national team.
