Extended deadline for negotiations regarding TV coverage of the 2006 World Championships

The negotiations with the Danish television company DR and the Norwegian television company TV2 Norge on extensive TV coverage of the 2006 World Orienteering Championships (WOC) have proceeded in a very positive manner.
Some further negotiations are, however, still needed in order to secure the funding. Strongly believing that a solution will be reached, and that the contract can shortly be signed, the WOC organiser has asked for a slight extension of the original deadline, and the IOF has agreed to this.
The deadline for the other two preconditions for endorsement of the inclusion of Micro-O in the Middle Distance of the 2006 WOC, i.e. the approval of rules and regulations, and the publication of training possibilities, remains unchanged, i.e. 31st December 2005.
