The International Federation of University Sports (FISU) has nominated the International Orienteering Federation for the “Best International Sport Federation” award.
FISU has nominated the International Orienteering Federation for the “Best International Sport Federation” award for “the great cooperation and especially for the support and contribution towards the organization of the two World University Orienteering Championships and support to the Krasnoyarsk Organising Committee in organizing the World Ski Orienteering Championships 2017”.
– The IOF is honored to be nominated for this award from FISU. We really appreciate the excellent and deepening cooperation between our organizations, which is based upon common values. The FISU University Championships are popular events for orienteering student-athletes and a valuable measuring stick for us when developing event quality, says Tom Hollowell, IOF Secretary General/CEO.
FISU wishes to recognise the active role that IOF has been playing in the development of the university sports movement. The award will be presented at FISU’s Gala event in connection with the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei in August, where IOF President Leho Haldna will attend.
