European Youth Sprint: medals to eight nations

The first race in the European Youth Championships, the Sprint, resulted in medals for 8 different nations including a Gold for Jakub Dekret from the host nation, Slovakia in class M18.
The other gold medals went to Anu Tuomisto, Finland in W18 – her winning margin was just 5 seconds – Piotr Rzenca, Poland in M16 and Csilla Gardonyi, Hungary in W16. She had the biggest winning margin of the day, 33 seconds.
