IOF Transgender Policy
Posted on | April 7, 2017 | Category: News

At their recent meeting in Madrid, the IOF Council approved the proposed IOF Transgender Policy, which is based on the IOC Consensus Meeting on Gender Reassignment (November 2015).
In brief, the aim of the policy is to balance the guarantee of fair competition and the right of trans athletes to participate in sporting competition, whilst complying with the World Anti-Doping Code and the WADA International Standards.
You can read the full policy here.
Note: due to the structure of classes in orienteering, the policy has a binary perspective.
