WADA Symposium 2017
Posted on | March 15, 2017 | Category: Newsletter

The annual WADA Symposium is currently taking place in Lausanne, Switzerland (13-15 March). The theme of this year’s edition of the event is “Tackling our Challenges and Strengthening the Future of Clean Sport”. IOF Anti-Doping Officer Kirsty McIntyre is attending the symposium, and tells us about the importance of the event:
Meeting and learning from others is crucial to the IOF’s Anti-Doping work. Orienteering does not exist in a bubble, and being part of the international Anti-Doping community means keeping my eyes and ears open to the experience and advice of others. This is my second time attending the symposium, and it is an incredible learning experience. This year, I have attended sessions such as Engaging Athletes in the Anti-Doping Process, Building a Strong Doping Risk Assessment and Testing Program, and Improving Education Programs through Social Science Research. I hope that what I learn here this week will help me to bring new ideas and energy into the IOF’s Anti-Doping work.
