IOF Honorary Member Horst Stubenrauch has passed away

It is with great sadness we received the news that IOF Honorary Member Horst Stubenrauch (GER) has passed away on April 25th at the age of 85. Horst was a leading official during the formative years of the IOF being active in commissions work from the very beginning of the IOF in 1961 until 1972. From 1972 until 1982 he was a member of the IOF Council and was in fact the very first IOF official recognized with the title of Honorary Member.
Horst Stubenrauch also played an important role nationally, in the then German Democratic Republic (DDR), being a key representative for orienteering in the Deutscher Turn- und Sportbund. He was also the Secretary General of the 3rd World Orienteering Championships in Friedrichroda.
The IOF acknowledges and celebrates the contributions Horst Stubenrauch made to the sport of orienteering.
