World Cup Long Distance: wins for Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg and Daniel Hubmann

On challenging courses around Arosa in Switzerland, victories went to the Norwegian Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg and home runner Daniel Hubmann.
The winning margin in the women’s race was 3.18, with Swiss athlete Sabine Hauswirth taking second place and another Swiss, Sara Luescher in third, a further 1.45 down. Switzerland athletes’ performances overall were impressive, with the women’s team taking all the places 2 to 5.
In the men’s race, the Norwegian Carl Godager Kaas held the lead for a long time, but final starter Daniel Hubmann came into the finish in a time 2.14 quicker. He was the only one to beat Kaas’s time, and it was another Norwegian, Olav Lundanes, who took third place, 30 seconds down on Kaas.
Tomorrow the World Cup Final over Middle Distance will be held, and the Relay Final, a Sprint Relay, is on Sunday. Full details of these plus all today’s results can be found on the event website www.o-worldcup.ch.
