Antti Rusanen, one of the best TrailO competitors in the world, won the first gold medal in this year’s World Trail Orienteering Championships. The final in TempO took place at a golf course west of Zagreb. At the course there were seven (7) stations with five (5) controls at each station. Antti managed to get 34 of the 35 controls correct and in combination with his well-known high speed in answering he took the first place.
Second place and silver medal went to Ján Furucz, Slovakia, and third place took the young Sondre Ruud Bråten from Norway. It should also be noted that Portugal had two competitors among the 10 best, which also Norway and Finland had.
