Kyburz: now a Long Distance specialist too
Posted on | June 3, 2015 | Category: Arena
Matthias Kyburz has done well at all distances for years, but the Swiss athlete has always been at his very best in the Sprint. Now he is showing that hard work is giving even better results at a different distance. “I have been doing longer training sessions, and I’ve worked to perform well in the Long distance. The results show that I can do the Long very well”, Matthias tells.
He won his first World Cup victory in Long distance in Nordic terrain in Halden, Norway today. “I am satisfied with the race. I took the right route choices on the long legs”, he tells.
To the sixth control, on a leg that was 3.3 kilometres long as the crow flies, he caught up with Thierry Gueorgiou. Matthias, Thierry and William Lind were together a lot in the final part of the race.
The Swiss team for the World Championships in Scotland will be selected just after the World Cup round in Norway and Sweden.
