Ski Orienteering World Cup: Arnesson’s best day as an athlete

For more than ten years Peter Arnesson has been near the top of the ski orienteering results lists. In the Middle distance in Romania he got his first international gold.
Peter has also been close to a big individual victory for a long time. He has previous medals from both European and World Championships, but only silver and bronze. -It feels good to win, and this is my best ever day as a sportsman, he says.
The Russian Eduard Khrennikov also got gold, with precisely the same elapsed time as Arnesson. Whilst Peter made a little mistake out in the forest, Eduard made one just after he had started. The spectators could see him taking an extra loop.
Arnesson is a full-time ski orienteer in the winter. Last autumn until Christmas he was working as a Sports Manager in his club Hallby IF. Next year the World Championships in ski orienteering will be held in Sweden. Peter goes of course for that. -And it can also be that I go for more after that, he smiles.
