Athletes’ Commission in MTB orienteering established

An Athletes’ Commission in Mountain Bike Orienteering has now been formed with triple world champion Michaela Gigon (AUT) as co-ordinator.
The three other commission members are Remigijus Arlauskas (LTU), Anke Dannowski (GER) and Adrian Jackson (AUS). It is envisaged that the commission will hold its first meeting in conjunction with the 2007 World MTB Orienteering Championships in Nove Mesto na Morave, Czech Republic.
Earlier this year, Athletes Commissions were formed in foot orienteering and ski orienteering.
The role of the Athletes’ Commissions is advisory and they will liaise with and provide advice to the IOF Council and their respective discipline commissions on rules, event programmes, fairness and other matters relevant to the elite athlete and world elite orienteering.
