The IOF Foot Orienteering Commission has recently finalised the 2007 versions of its Guidelines to World Ranking Events (WRE) and the World Masters Orienteering Championships (WMOC) and each has been updated to include reference to exciting new developments in both areas.
The World Masters’ Guidelines give advice on the new Masters’ Sprint Championships which are to be held for the first time in 2008. Full details are available here.
The WRE Guidelines encourage organisers of Sprint races to experiment with modified Rules, in particular by reducing the minimum separation of control sites and by the use of dummy control sites in the terrain. More details are available here.
