Judith Wyder: “I have had some luck”

Since August, it is only for the last three weeks that Judith Wyder has been training well; the woman champion of the year really feels she has had some luck.
It was in a race 2,900 metres above sea level that she had an accident during the Swiss Six-days. She fell down a cliff that was several metres high, but fell directly down. “I injured my stomach,” she says. At first there was a danger that she had internal bleeding.
– Do you now think orienteering is dangerous?
“Accidents happen very rarely, but I was lucky when this happened to me,” she says.
After the injury she has also had flu for five weeks. “But now I have been training for three weeks,” she says. She isn’t really sure of the strength. “But here on home ground it’s something extra with all the spectators. I can get extra strength,” she says.
