Matthias Kyburz: “We’ll see how my strength is during the weekend”

Matthias Kyburz wanted to take part, and he took part, in the final sprint relay in Basel. He didn’t save his strength for the weekend.

He is one of the men fighting for the second place in the overall World Cup standings. Daniel Hubmann has already won. These two races will give the total result. Neither of the two currently best overall took part in the sprint relay, but that was also due to injuries.

“I wanted to take part in the sprint relay. It’s close to where I am from – only 20 kilometres away. I also like Sprints and to run relays,” he says. Kyburz started in front and increased the gap on the third leg.

“We will see how my strength will be during the weekend and if the Sprint participation will have any influence, but I think it will go well,” the smiling Swiss star tells.
