MTBO World Cup: overall victories for Benham and Foliforov
Posted on | August 30, 2014 | Category: News
On the top rung of the ladder at the end of an exciting World Cup season are Emily Benham, Great Britain and Anton Foliforov, Russia. Overall victory was by 15 points for Emily and 77 points for Anton.
The World Championships individual races held this week counted towards overall World Cup scores for the season; the first two rounds were in Denmark and Sweden earlier in the year. For Emily the second round, where she had three wins, was decisive. Closest in the final women’s standings is Marika Hara, Finland, and the young Russian rider Svetlana Poverina is third.
Anton Foliforov has enjoyed a consistently good season and he finishes with a big lead over fellow Russian Ruslan Gritsan. Third in a very close fight is the Czech Jiri Hradil. He finishes just one point ahead of Lauri Malsroos, Estinia and two ahead of Hans Jørgen Kvåle, Norway.
