Two years ago Czech Republic won men’s World Championships relay in Switzerland. In the European Championships relay in Portugal the Czech were really satisfied with silver.
“We have almost a completely new team. I am the only “old one” – the other two are the new and young ones”, Jan Prochazka smiles.
He is 29 years old and he fought hard for the gold on the last leg of the relay. “But Gustav Bergman was too strong. We are very satisfied with the silver”, he says.
After Prochazka finished the two others in the team also showed big happiness. Jan Petrzela who ran the first leg is only 21 years old. Vojtech Kral on the second leg is 25.
For Prochazka who won the relay close to Lausanne in 2012 those World Championships were very good. The fourth place on the middle distance is his best individual performance at European or World Championships so far. “I hope to have the same shape at WOC in July”, he says.
