New categories and prizes in IOF World Cup starting from season 2014

The IOF Council has revised the categories for IOF World Cup and decided that the future categories, starting from season 2014, will be as follows:
- Foot Orienteering: Men Individual, Women Individual
- MTB Orienteering: Men Individual, Women Individual, Nations’ Cup
- Ski Orienteering: Men Individual, Women Individual, Nations’ Cup
The specific point calculations for each category can be found in the World Cup Special Rules for each discipline.
In single World Cup events, the three best athletes/teams per class will receive prizes by the organiser. In the overall World Cup, the six best athletes per class and the best nation will be awarded with prizes by the IOF as detailed below.
Individual World Cup
1st place: trophy cup, gold medal, prize money (if applicable), diploma
2nd place: silver medal, prize money (if applicable), diploma
3rd place: bronze medal, prize money (if applicable), diploma
4th place: diploma, prize money (if applicable)
5th place: diploma, prize money (if applicable)
6th place: diploma, prize money (if applicable)
Nations’ Cup
1st place: trophy cup
