Billstam and Kyburz fastest at The World Games

The World Games sprint was held in the popular park El Ingenio in Cali, Colombia. Annika Billstam, Sweden, and Matthias Kyburz, Switzerland, were the clear winners on the long but fast sprint courses.
Annika Billstam was fast throughout the race, and did not make any bigger mistakes. Her speed was today too much for everyone, including silver medallist Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg, Norway, and bronze medallist Maja Alm, Denmark. Fourth place went to a surprise name: Nadia Volynska from Ukraine! Alison Crocker made the best-ever American performance at The World Games by finishing fifth, only three seconds from bronze.
Matthias Kyburz said yesterday that he was himself 75 % about winning the sprint race. The victory came probably even more convincingly than he had thought: Kyburz was 12 seconds faster than silver medallist Andrey Khramov. Khramov won the sprint at The World Games 2009 in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei. Then the victory marginal was only one second to Daniel Hubmann, who finished fifth today. Bronze medallist was Jerker Lysell, who defeated Kiril Nikolov, Bulgaria, by less than a second!
