Simone – ‘woke up in great shape’

Simone Niggli has been a bit unsure about making both the sprint and the Long distance at WOC because of the tight schedule.
“When I woke up in the morning before the Long distance I felt very well”, she says.
The evening before, she won the sprint with a great race in the centre of Sotkamo. Earlier in the day she ran the sprint qualification.
The Long distance was out in the wild forest around Sotkamo, and the favourite again had a super race to take her second gold of the week. “It was wonderful country and I ran confidently”, she says.
Simone now has 22 golds, and Wednesday is a day without a competition. The next is the Middle distance qualification on Thursday.
