Sickness didn’t hamper Annika

Posted on | July 9, 2013 | Category: Arena

Just in the last few days before WOC Annika Billstam became sick, but she ran an incredible race on the sprint in Sotkamo. It was one medal colour better than last year. She was only 8.1 seconds after winner Simone Niggli.

Influenza had affected her voice a bit, yet she is OK again, but it was only hours before the race that she decided to take part.

Before the sickness she has been in her best shape ever and she also got a positive answer in qualification in the morning. The body was doing well and in the final the same. She thinks it was a very challenging course and she liked it, and also the new fences.

“It’s good that it’s not all about researching on the internet and reading old maps”, she says.
