Tatyana’s first individual gold

Posted on | February 14, 2013 | Category: Arena

For some years now Tatyana Kozlova has been among the very best in the world, but first now has the Russian won an international individual championship race.

“I am so happy! This is really big for me”, smiles the 26-year-old athlete. In relay races she has won both World and European Championships earlier. She also has individual medals, but not gold. “The victory shows that I have done my work and preparations well and can succeed in important races”, she says.

In the middle distance it didn’t go so well. Like many others, Kozlova wanted to perform very well. Before the Long she changed her attitude a bit. “I just smiled and was relaxed”, she says. Her new attitude ensured a great race, good and fast navigating on a challenging course with a lot of controls and tracks.

Tatyana is running a lot in her training and is also doing orienteering. As a final-year junior in 2006 she was in the winning team in the Junior World Orienteering Championships relay. From Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships she has six golds.

She lives in the Moscow region, a little bit outside the centre of the city. “I live 40 kilometres south of Red Square”, she says.
