Great interest for JWOC and WMOC 2016

The IOF has received several applications to host IOF Events by the 1 January 2013 deadline.
Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) and World Masters Orienteering Championships (WMOC) 2016 received the most interest with three and four applications respectively. The applicant federations for the Junior World Championships are namely Romania, Switzerland and Hungary, while the World Masters Championships was applied by France, Denmark, Estonia, and Japan. The IOF Foot Orienteering Commission will now prepare a proposed short list of WMOC 2016 applications for IOF Council approval.
Portugal submitted applications to host World MTB Orienteering Championships and Junior World MTB Orienteering Championships 2016 in Aveiro and Coimbra in the western coast, and European MTB Orienteering Championships 2015 in Idanha-a-Nova in eastern Portugal. Norway presented their bid for Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships and European Youth Ski Orienteering Championships 2015 to be held in conjunction with the World Ski Orienteering Championships in Hedmark.
