Jansson: “So good to take part”

Posted on | September 7, 2012 | Category: Arena

At the European Championships on home ground Helena Jansson got injured. At the World Championships she was injured again, but times are better now, and the Swede was second today and is second overall in the Nordic Tour ahead of the last race.

“It’s so nice to be able to run again”, the Swede smiles. She was just ten seconds behind the winner Simone Niggli in central Kajaani and she is again running well. There is still some trace of the injury, but she says she can give full speed all this week.

Last year Jansson became the ‘queen of WOC’ with a medal at every distance. This year hasn’t at all been like that, with a lot of injuries.

– Are you thinking about stopping your career now, since you have won just about everything and have had problems this year?

“Not at all. I still think I can be better in my orienteering and I want to achieve such a level”, she smiles.

Helena Jansson runs into second place in today’s Sprint final and is also second overall in the Nordic Tour standings.
