Nordic Tour stage 4: Ida Bobach & Matthias Kyburz win qualification races

In the women’s race all the well-known names qualified for this afternoon’s final, but in the men’s race Øystein Kvaal Østerbø, Norway and home runner Jani Lakanen both missed out, finishing 32nd and 33rd respectively.

The races, billed as ‘the most urban Sprint ever held in Finland’ and entirely on asphalt, were won by Ida Bobach, Denmark by 5 seconds and Matthias Kyburz, Switzerland by 3 seconds. First six in the women’s race were Ida Bobach DEN, Helena Jansson SWE, Simone Niggli SUI, Judith Wyder SUI, Catherine Taylor GBR and Minna Kauppi FIN, and in the men’s Matthias Kyburz SUI, Frédéric Tranchard FRA, Jerker Lysell SWE, Fabian Hertner SUI, William Lind SWE and Eskil Kinneberg NOR.
