The cooperation among Central-European orienteering federations (CEOC – Central European Orienteering Cooperation) has been officially established at a meeting in Csákvár, Hungary. Two fundamental documents were adopted: the code of functioning of the cooperation and special rules for the Central European Youth Orienteering Cup (CEYOC).

The Swiss runners were very successful on the European Orienteering Championships in Ticino, Switzerland. On the final day of championships, the long distance titles went to Olav Lundanes, Norway and Tove Alexandersson, Sweden. The Swiss remained for the first time without a title after three golden days.

Top athletes in this year’s World Cup after the European Championships are Tove Alexandersson, Sweden and Matthias Kyburz, Switzerland. Both dominated their competitions, winning two of the three individual races and finishing second in the other.
