ECTO 2015 Final standing

Important notice: The two extra competitors from heat B who were allowed to compete in the TempO final (ECTO #10) will not receive any extra ECTO points for their placement in the final. The ECTO points have been distributed among the 30 best in the qualification (15 from each heat) according to their placement in the final.

Competitions

The following competitions are included in the European Cup in TrailO (ECTO) 2015. They are ordinary competitions that have been selected by the TOC to be included in the ECTO.

Competition rules and guidelines

Since the ECTO consists of already excising competitions the organizing countries own rules and guidelines may be used for their competitions. However, all deviations from the IOF rules and guidelines must be stated in the pre-race info, e.g. points for correct answer at timed control. Also, all information (invitation, pre-race info, etc.) must be available in English.

Participation and entry

Since many countries only have a single class, only the open class will be included in the ECTO. There will be no limitation of how many competitors can enter from each country. If a country has domestic limitations for its own competitors these may still be enforced. Each competitor has to enter by their own, not via their federation.

ECTO results calculation

To achieve fairness and since both PreO and TempO competitions are included a points system has to be used. Points will be awarded to each competitor according to their placement at each competition. The following points system will be used:

For the final score of the ECTO the 5 best points from all competitions for each competitor will count. If two or more have the same final score the competitor with most 1^st places will be ranked the highest. If still equal, the competitor with most 2^nd places will be ranked the highest. This will go on with 3^rd places, 4^th places etc. until a tiebreaker has been found.

 

Please send suggestions of suitable competitions to be included in ECTO 2016. The suggestions should include:

•Date of competitions.

•Name of organiser / course planner

•Competition format, PreO or TempO

Send the suggestions to Martin Fredholm, preferably during the World Trail Orienteering Championships 2015 but at the latest at the end of July 2015.
